Janet English is the bassist, vocalist and co-founder of iconic Australian rock band Spiderbait – a band that has helped shape the Australian alternative rock scene for more than three decades.
From their beginnings in regional NSW to chart-topping hits including Buy Me a Pony, Calypso and Black Betty, Spiderbait has become one of Australia's most beloved bands, earning induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2026.
A trailblazer for women in Australian rock, Janet's distinctive voice and songwriting are celebrated on Sounds in the Key of J, a collection of her Spiderbait songs. And her creative journey continues, with a solo album on the way.
